Jointly organised by Koç University and the Swiss Arbitration Academy, in partnership with the Turkic Arbitration Association, the three-day programme brought together distinguished legal practitioners, arbitrators, academics and legal professionals from different jurisdictions, providing a valuable platform for sharing knowledge, practical experience and perspectives on international commercial arbitration.
As part of the programme, Nazlı Kumbaracı Arıkan delivered a lecture together with Associate Professor Dr. K. Sedat Sirmen entitled “Foundations of International Commercial Arbitration — A Comparative Introduction,” on 1 September 2026. The session explored the fundamental principles of international commercial arbitration from a comparative perspective, combining academic insights with practical considerations drawn from international arbitration practice.

The programme addressed various stages of international arbitration proceedings, including arbitration agreements, case management, written advocacy, hearings, cross-examination and enforcement, combining theoretical discussions with practical training and interactive workshops.
At ARIKAN PARTNERS, we remain committed to contributing to the development of international arbitration through academic and professional initiatives, sharing our practical experience and expertise with the next generation of arbitration practitioners, and fostering meaningful collaboration within the international legal community.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Koç University, the Swiss Arbitration Academy, the Turkic Arbitration Association, and everyone who contributed to the organisation and success of this valuable programme.
